Beach House Must Haves

Each year thousands of families visit Panama City Beach for their annual vacation. With an average of 320 days of sunshine, it is the perfect place to purchase a vacation home or to live year round. Many prospective buyers often ask how they can get the most out of their investment by renting their property while they are not using it. While there are a multitude of answers to this question, there are a few “must haves” and trends that will catch the eye of other vacationers who are looking for a rental property during the on and off season.
    Coastal Décor
One of the main things we hear from vacationers is that they love the feeling of being at the beach. This doesn’t necessarily mean wall to wall pastels but consider some shades of turquoise, light earth tones and a few beachy accessories. Ceramic wood plank tile has become a great trend with its rustic coastal look and ease to clean. It’s always fun to see a few starfish or sand dollars in a vase or a bold back splash with colors of the sea. Be sure to include a guest book so that your guests can share a little bit about their trip and you can continue to stay in touch with them throughout the year!
    Outdoor Shower
If investing in a beach house, you won’t want to skip this essential detail. After a long afternoon on the sandy beaches, you and your guests will love the ability to rinse off the sand, salt and sunblock outside of the home. This not only helps keep your floors clean but it protects the plumbing as well. Many beach goers do not consider the pipe deterioration and clogging potential from rinsing excess sand down the indoor shower drains. This feature not only helps maintain your indoor plumbing but it makes the perfect space to rinse off those freshly collected seashells!
    Personal Items
Take full advantage of your new vacation property by selecting a securable space and filling it with personal items. We recommend a few oversized plush beach towels, beach friendly games, (we love bocce ball and corn hole), an umbrella, beach hats and a good bottle of wine. If your property affords extra storage, bicycles such as beach cruisers are the perfect way to tour Panama City Beach at your leisure. Items to avoid in this space would be perishable items such as certain foods and sunblock.
