Delta Expands its Austin Network with Five New Routes, Including Daily Service to Panama City Beach, FL

Delta Airlines is making strides to solidify its position as the go-to airline for travelers to and from Austin with the introduction of five new routes. Beginning in March 2025, Delta will offer daily nonstop flights from Austin to Panama City, Florida (ECP), Indianapolis (IND), Memphis (MEM), San Francisco (SFO), and Tampa (TPA). This expansion gives Austin travelers more choices than ever before, connecting them to major leisure and business destinations across the country.

According to Joe Esposito, Delta’s S.V.P. of Network Planning, “Delta has made its commitment to Austin known, and these new routes and the 55 peak-day departures planned for Summer 2025 reaffirm that. This is on top of the already 20% seat capacity increase we put into service in April, connecting Austin to new destinations in major corporate and leisure markets both within Texas and outside the state — onward throughout our global network.”

March Additions: Perfect for Spring Break and Mardi Gras

Launching on March 9, 2025, Delta will offer nonstop flights from Austin to Panama City Beach (ECP), making it an ideal route for Spring Breakers heading to the pristine beaches of the Florida Panhandle. This daily flight, operated by SkyWest using an Embraer ERJ-175, offers First Class, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin seating, ensuring a comfortable journey for all travelers.

The March expansion also includes a new route from Austin to New Orleans (MSY), set to begin on February 27, just in time for Mardi Gras and Spring Break festivities.

May Additions: The Only Nonstop AUS-MEM Service

On May 7, 2025, Delta will introduce the only nonstop service between Austin and Memphis, as well as a new route to Indianapolis. Both of these flights, also operated by SkyWest, will utilize the ERJ-175 aircraft, giving business and leisure travelers seamless access to two culturally significant destinations. Travelers to Memphis can explore the iconic Beale Street or savor its world-renowned barbecue, while the new Austin-Indianapolis route opens up more business travel opportunities.

June Additions: Connecting Tech Hubs and Coastal Getaways

Delta’s new Austin routes will culminate in June with nonstop flights to San Francisco (SFO) and Tampa (TPA). Launching on June 8, these routes are a perfect bridge between two major U.S. tech hubs — Austin and San Francisco. Meanwhile, the Austin-Tampa route will further expand Delta’s connection between Austin and Florida’s gorgeous Gulf Coast.

These flights will be operated on Delta’s Airbus A220-300, a modern aircraft designed for comfort with fewer middle seats, large windows, expanded overhead bins, and fast, free Wi-Fi. It’s an ideal option for both business travelers looking to stay productive and those wanting to unwind with Delta’s extensive in-flight entertainment options.

Expanding Austin’s Gateway to the World

Delta’s expansion in Austin follows the airline’s strategic move to position the city as a major gateway, connecting travelers to its global network. With nonstop flights to all of Delta’s major hubs, customers from Austin are only one connection away from destinations across the globe, including Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
